Purification of Chromium (VI) for Use in the PBI Determination

Chromium (VI) which is essentially free of iodine can be prepared by converting CrO,3 to CrO2Cl2. The crude chromyl chloride can be used with concentrated sulfuric acid for wet combustion of serum in the PBI determination.
