Improved gasometric methods of analyses for oxygen and carbon monoxide in fingertip blood are described. The accuracy of the method for oxygen is evaluated by comparison with the iron concentration of the blood. The accuracy of the method for carbon monoxide is evaluated by analyzing samples of blood saturated with carbon monoxide serially diluted with the same blood saturated with oxygen.
Technics are described for obtaining the blood for analysis from fingertip puncture.
