Rapid, Efficient Procedure for Extraction of Drugs for Toxicological Analysis

The method involves extraction of nonionized acidic drugs and iodide ion pairs of amines by column chromatography. A yield of about 90% is obtained for acetylsalicylic acid and amphetamine.
